Meet Mikaela Muersch, a talented medical illustrator hailing from the south suburbs of Chicago. Armed with a Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Mikaela is passionate about marrying her artistic talents with a deep understanding of human anatomy.
Her journey started with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Life Drawing from the American Academy of Art, where she honed her observational skills and eye for anatomical accuracy. Continuing her quest for knowledge and skill refinement, Mikaela delved into a diverse array of subjects during her time at UIC.
From intensive courses in anatomy cadaver labs, neuroanatomy, and molecular biology to deep dives into illustration, learning theory, and UI/UX design, she embraced every opportunity to expand her expertise. Driven by a passion for collaboration and innovation, Mikaela thrives in team-based projects, leveraging her creativity and visual problem-solving skills to develop novel solutions.
With a diverse background encompassing traditional 2D illustration and clinical design for virtual reality, Mikaela demonstrates her versatility across various mediums. From crafting detailed anatomical illustrations to designing simulated surgeries for training in VR environments, her adaptability underscores her commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical visualization.
